PRE-ORDER YOUR COPY NOW - PUBLISHED 29 NOVEMBER 2024 Through the lens of some of the best photographers of the sport we look at the formative years of Dougie Lampkin, born into and growing up with the sport through his father and uncles. His legendary will to win saw him win his first ACU British Youth title in 1991 aged 14, his first senior British title in 1994 and then the first of his remarkable run of world titles in 1997 aged just 21. Many of the pictures have never been published before as we trace Dougie’s rise in The Making of a World Champion.
Dougie Lampkin is widely acknowledged as one the greatest motorcycle trials riders of all time. He was the son of Martin Lampkin, the winner of the first ever FIM World Trials Championships in 1975. Following in his father’s footsteps, Dougie went on to win 7 straight outdoor world titles 1997-2003 and 5 straight indoor world titles from 1997-2001.
